Nina Ekström is a multidisciplinary artist and designer.
Horses have always represented a significant part of her life, and it is therefore natural that in her art she often depicts her experiences and emotions in the form of horses. She is fascinated by this animal’s wisdom, calm, primitive power, and freedom.
In her works she captures precisely what is meaningful and important in these qualities. The horses in her artworks are soulful.
Her way of working is spontaneous and intensive, with a touch that is at once powerful and delicate. She works with various painting techniques, and her sculptures are made of ceramics or bronze.
In addition, she has had a long career as a MakeUp Artist in theatre and the media industry.
